Title: Is Frailty a Predictor of Poor Outcomes after Arthroplasty? A Prospective Study of Patients > 65

Overview: 1) To evaluate if elderly patients undergoing total joint replacements (TJR) who are frail and/or have a history of pre-operative falls (an important component of the frailty phenotype) will have worse pain, worse function, and worse health-related quality of life at 1 year. 2) To evaluate if elderly patients undergoing TJA who are frail and/or have a history of pre-operative falls will have more adverse events prior to discharge, at 30 days and at 1 year.
