Work in Progress Seminar

The TRIPLL monthly Work in Progress Seminar (WIP)  is primarily devoted to reviewing and critiquing grant proposals prior to submission. The seminar offers the opportunity for a “mini-study section,” in which proposals are read in advance and interdisciplinary feedback is given to the investigator as it might be in a review session. We ask that presenters circulate their materials one week in advance of the seminar to allow group members to carefully review the proposal/paper. The seminar has helped numerous investigators obtain both federal and nonfederal funding. The WIP seminar is also open to reviewing/critiquing journal articles (in preparation or with a revise and resubmit status), as well as discussion of methodological and measurement issues related to your research projects. Shorter discussions are also welcome around new research ideas.

We welcome new members who wish to attend the monthly meeting. The seminar is held on the third Wednesday of each month from 12-2 PM. This is a wonderful way to learn what colleagues are doing, and to enhance grant-writing skills.  The seminar concentrates on grants/papers in the area of pain and pain management but will also host presentations in areas that are directly related to these topics. It is a great opportunity both to receive feedback on your work from investigators at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell Ithaca, Columbia University, Hospital for Special Surgery, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York.
