/Annika Rogers

Annika Rogers is a rising junior at Brown University concentrating in Neuroscience. She first became interested in geriatrics after volunteering at the Wingate Residences on the East Side in Providence. As a board member of the Brown Alzheimer’s Activists, she has worked with Wingate patients suffering from Alzheimer’s and other forms of memory impairment. Her passion for aiding older adults continued with her work through Self Expression for Adults with Developmental Disabilities, where she provides emotional, social, and creative support to individuals facing a plethora of neurological disorders. Annika also works in a laboratory at Butler Hospital under the Memory and Aging Program, where she seeks to uncover the role of stress susceptibility in risk of Alzheimer’s disease pathologies. In the future she hopes to combine her interest in neurological disorders with her creative abilities to create more personalized solutions for afflicted individuals. Outside of academics, Annika enjoys water coloring, creating memories with friends, and teaching herself guitar.
