June 5, 2020: Qualitative Research Measures
Presenter: David Camacho, PhD, T32 Behavioral Geriatrics Fellow, Weill Cornell Medicine
Overview: Dr. Camacho’s presentation focused on building a foundation for conducting responsible qualitative research. He provided an overview of the importance of “Reflexivity”, “Transparency” and challenging the “Epistemological Unconsciousness” in recruiting, engaging and interviewing older racial, sexual and gender minorities. ”
June 8, 2020: Health Professions in Geriatrics (note: this presentation is audio only)
Presenter: Elissa Kozlov, PhD, Instructor in the School of Public Health, Core Faculty at the Institute for Health, Health Policy and Aging Research, Rutgers University
Overview: Dr. Kozlov presented the various health careers in aging. She explained the different professions’ training, cost of education, scope of practice, and role on an interdisciplinary team.

Overview: Professor Wethington reviewed the latest research on the relationship between social isolation, loneliness and health among older adults in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
June 26, 2020: Caregiving
Presenter: Catherine A. Riffin, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychology in Medicine, Weill Cornell Medicine
Overview: Dr. Riffin’s webinar provided an overview of roles and tasks that family caregivers assume. It also described how these responsibilities impact caregivers’ mental, physical, and financial well-being.

Overview: Dr. Phongtankuel presented a brief overview of palliative and hospice care.
July 10, 2020: Technology in Older Adults Care Delivery and Research
Presenter: Francesca Falzarano, PhD, T32 Behavioral Geriatrics Fellow, Weill Cornell Medicine
Overview: Dr. Falzarano’s presentation discussed taking a developmental psychology perspective to inform the design, development, and implementation of supportive and innovative technology for older adult users. This included the discussion of age-related biases and limitations of current technological tools and considerations of important elements, such as user-centered design, to be incorporated in future approaches with the goal of enhancing technology adoption in the older adult population.
July 17, 2020: Impact of stress on age-relevant health outcomes and physiological changes

Overview: This webinar describes ways in which stress can impact health as people age. Dr. Heather Derry discusses research methods used to study stress and immune function, with a focus on classic studies in psychoneuroimmunology.
