Joanna Li is a recent graduate of Cornell University, where she studied Global and Public Health Sciences. Her interest in aging and pain in later life was first sparked through interactions with her grandparents and experiences caring for older patients as an EMT. Throughout college, Joanna gained valuable experience as a research assistant in the Cornell Health Design Innovations Lab, where she studied the impact of lighting and sound interventions on patient sleep quality. Additionally, she completed an internship at the United Hospital Fund of New York, where she worked on a project about the Opioid Epidemic’s impact on children and families. In the future, Joanna hopes to pursue a career in the healthcare field. She is particularly interested in digital health, and the ways technology can be designed and leveraged to improve patient and provider experiences, as well as expand healthcare access. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, playing volleyball, traveling, and photography.
