Kamran Jillani grew up in New York City and is a rising senior at Cornell University. He is studying biological sciences and concentrating in nutrition. Kamran’s interest in geriatrics stems from an experiment he helped perform on weight control and self-weighing in mid-aged adults. Hearing adults speak of the burden that pain had on their ability to perform simple day to day tasks made Kamran want to learn more about how we could develop innovative and interdisciplinary methods to treat pain, as opposed to traditional medicine. After graduating from Cornell, he hopes to work in the research field and eventually attend dental school. Outside of academics, Kamran is the president of Cornell’s Pakistani Students Association. He loves keeping in touch with his heritage and teaching others about it through Pakistani art, music, film, and literature. During his free time, you can find Kamran watching documentaries or flipping through Urdu poetry.
