Kelsey Donovan is a rising senior at the University of Massachusetts studying Nutrition with a minor in Biology as well as a minor in Spanish & Health. Kelsey dedicates much of her time volunteering at an assisted living facility, primarily assisting patients in the memory care unit. Additionally, she works as an EMT for her university and conducts nutritional research on the gut microbiome relative to human health. Kelsey became passionate about geriatrics and palliative medicine through her caregiving experiences with her grandparents who were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease when she was young. Kelsey recently returned from a semester abroad in Spain where she studied Spanish for medical professionals and universal healthcare. She hopes to pursue medical education, using a holistic and integrative approach to ease the pain of her future patients. Kelsey aspires to promote public health and investigate disease treatments through clinical research. In her free time, you can often find Kelsey playing field hockey, cooking healthy food recipes, and going for runs and hikes.
